Hotel part of a package changed by Easyjet less than 3 weeks before travel

Options
Hi, 5 of us are going to Athens with EasyJet on 7th Oct for my daughters 30th birthday.  We took ages looking for the hotel and now EasyJet have just changed it. They have put us in another 3 star hotel but it doesn't look a patch on the one that we booked so we are not happy.  How do we stand with getting a full refund if we cancel?

What are the terms of the easyJet package?

Most package operators T&Cs will allow them to change the accommodation if there are circumstances beyond their control. As long as its a hotel of the same standard (official rating) in the same town.

If you're unhappy you could always discuss if there are any other options with them.

If the new hotel is of the same rating and has the same amenities then it is likely the T&C's allow them to do it, but you need to read the conditions to see if that is the case.

Same happened to me 2 weeks ago, 6 days before travel. I cancelled for a refund AFAIK all easy jet packages allow you to cancel for refund, it should tell you that in the email they sent you

you could look for another hotel and get back to them with an alternative ,

there is no point asking them to find an alternative as the call centre told me they don’t have access to search

What’s the reason they changed the hotel?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

    Exactly, a key question.
Athens was badly impacted by very bad weather at the start of the month - the change of hotel may have been as a result of this.
