Great British Insulation scheme - Incorrect EPC

Hi, im looking to get cavity wall insulation through the insulation scheme but my EPC is incorrect. My house is rated as C, and teh certificate states that the cavities are already insulated, which tehy 100% are not. The certificate has recently expired and i suspect it was somewhat falsified by the previous owner as he survey was done just before we bought it.

My question is, is there any point in trying to contact the assessor to get it updated, or will it just be refused (as its already expired?) Am i just going to have to bite the bullet and pay for a new survey?

You could open a savings account with Skipton Building Society and take advantage of their free EPC Plus offer.

  • Excellent shout!

If you did need to pay, EPCs don't seem to be expensive. We were quoted £60 for ours before we moved IRC. (We never paid for it because there was an error on it and we refused to pay until it was corrected, which it never was, but neither was a charge ever raised for it!)
