Please can you help me? Am I being stupid with my calculations on my contract?
Normally I would buy sim free but i'm thinking this contract deal is actually better. Have I just miscalculated?
Sim free is £1199 . You can get £11 per month, unlimited data from ID mobile. 12 month contract. With EU roaming - 30GB limit.
11 * 24months (12 months x 2) = £264 Sim free = Handset £1199 + 264 = £**1463**
11 * 24months (12 months x 2) = £264 Sim free = Handset £1199 + 264 = £**1463**
ID Mobile Being offered - Unlimited Data + Mins + Texts £29.99pm x 24m + £549 upfront = £1269
The contract is cheaper?
Including CPI raises . Let's say it's 15% .
£549 +
£29.99 x 6 (£179.94)
£34.49 x 12 (£413.88)
£39.66 x 6 (£237.96) = 831.78
£34.49 x 12 (£413.88)
£39.66 x 6 (£237.96) = 831.78
Total cost £**1,380.78**

Your calculations look right, but you would be committing to 24 months rather than 12. Cpi/rpi increases are a bit of an unknown but hopefully you are at tip end of estimates.
The only question for me is could you get a cheaper sim only deal in 12 months? Maybe, maybe not.0 -
Not seeing that deal on the Id Mobile site, is it via a reseller?
Could you post a link?
EDIT: Found it - mobiles.co.uk0
