so lets say i stopped paying stepchange, i write to creditors saying im paying them direct, they will prob want an income/ expenditure statement, exactly as stepchange wanted. I couldnt ask them for an interest free payment holiday for say 3/ 6months, i dont see it happening, as they know im working and have excess money, im paying £547 a month at mo, the biggest debt is barclaycard £6000, smallest, simplybe £55.hence i dont have £1000s to pay early settlement , cos i keep paying them £547 a month, thus i cant get the chance to save £thousands and make them a full and final offer.Plus i read to make an offer, i need to show them where the money is coming from, eg a relative, ( which wont happen). ( cant exactly say the money is coming from me as you allowed me a 6 month payment interest free holiday)As i said i need them to allow me stop paying for months and months and months ( still with no interest accruing) then making some of them full and final offers.
yes, about a year ago as i said i contacted a debt that had been sold on, and only got 10% off, prob as they hardly made much profit from me yet, even if they bought the debt for 12p in the £, Today, they probably have made a profit cos ive paid them for 15 months, I get your point, and realise the longer i pay them the bigger discount they may offer, ( as they ahve made profit from me). but its raising the £thousands to make a final offer thats too hard.
except for say the debt of £55 etc.
the only reason i pay no interest is cos of what? cos i defaulted, cos i use stepchange, cos i cant meet the min payments?
one problem i asked stepchange--" surely as the DMP is getting near the end, and im still making £547 a month, the money would probably at least the min payment or above on the credit cards i owe, as the balance will be much lower, what is stopping the credit card companies taking me off the interest free and treating me as a regular customer ?"
whats the worst they could do, if i refuse to pay for months, even after ive showed them an income and expenditure statement showing i have excess monthly money, they wont entertain the poverty plea. surely they will go the next step which is???????????Christians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )
