Looks like it has finally launched. Priced at £6.3K + installation including Gateway (which itself costs £800 and is expected to be deprecated soon in favour of a more software based solution)0 -
That's approximately what the distributors are charging installers for the initial stock of batteries. Add around £1-1200 labour on top for end customer prices.pensionpawn said:

So, £7k5 all in for a Powerwall 3 with built in Home Gateway functionality. I'll have to run the numbers again... Possibly 5-6 year RoI which would be the lowest so far...Screwdriva said:

When you factor in the built-in inverter, imminent software "gateway" launch - essentially removing the need for Gateway 2 , and the newly added Intelligent Flux tariff compatibility, the term "game changer" comes to mind.pensionpawn said:So, £7k5 all in for a Powerwall 3 with built in Home Gateway functionality. I met with Tesla (under NDA) 2 weeks ago and find it alarming how exited a battery launch has made me

Any details on that? Clearly it couldn't be purely software as it would need to physically disconnect from the grid before firing up in backup operation, and also switch in the N-E link.Screwdriva said:https://www.tesla.com/en_gb/powerwall

It would be alarming if you're "exited"!Screwdriva said:

6.4kWp (16 * 400Wp REC Alpha) facing ESE + 5kW Huawei inverter + 10kWh Huawei battery. Buckinghamshire.1 -
Looking forward to an update from Screwdriva, as that has reminded me of something Tesla said a while back, about being able to monitor and control export so closely, that they could do it via software. So maybe they have cracked it, but no idea what DNO requirements are necessary for safety etc, and certification ...... now I'm 'exited' too!Qyburn said:

Sadly no. I grilled the Tesla employee several times- the best I got was “Gateway-less” does not mean “hardware-less”. Maybe Gateway3 will be miniaturized?Qyburn said:Any details on that? With Tesla, you really never know. I do know they are working very closely with DNOs and Octopus with mixed results.
That’s what my wife said!Magnitio said:It would be alarming if you're "exited"- 10 x 400w LG Bifacial + 6 x 550W SHARP BiFacial + 2 x 570W SHARP Bifacial + 5kW SolarEdge Inverter + SolarEdge Optimizers. SE London.

Just had a tentative quote for £7k8 jump to £9k4 so that's that kicked into touch again. I'll continue to wait for bi-directional charging EV's.pensionpawn said:
