Having heating on at night seems a real luxury when I am asleep, but I get the idea is to not have to heat from a lower base line.
That's the point of an optimiser, or optimum start function. It decides how early it needs to start heating to reach target temperature at the target time. Commercial buildings have had that for decades, even dating back to pneumatic or electro mechanical controls.

You can simulate the function with a smart stat if you can create enough time zones, but would be a right fiddle.

You need a lot of force to compress the soggy bits of paper. Most of those presses are of flimsy construction and bend way too easy.
Once you have a pile of bricks, they need to be left somewhere for several months to dry out properly. So no good making some now to use at Christmas.
They don't burn very well, and you get a considerable amount of ash - Save your time & energy and use properly seasoned wood.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

I looked at one of those but I don't get a paper and you're not supposed to use glossy junk mail. This was the thread I read at the time:
