Microsoft Office for less? Is it genuine?

  • I bought a license key for Windows 10 years ago at a low price like that and it has worked fine for me.

Main bit to note is that you should only ever install software downloaded directly from Microsoft. Many of the cheaper key sellers provide you with a link to download some software (presumably modified in some way to accept the key they provide), and unless you have the technical know how to verify it is a legitimate copy of the software you have no idea what you're installing.

Otherwise the open source options aren't too bad, but take a bit of getting used to. LibreOffice is one I can recommend.

Try out the long established Libre Office before parting with your hard earned cash.

    Hi guys!

Was looking to buy Microsoft Office, and I found some offers for 3-10 GBP, are they genuine? Is it even possible?

Or it is just a scam?

Do you know any good place where to buy a MS Office in decent price?

    Many thanks!

Do you have secondary age kids or nephew/nieces they get office 365 through school/college and get a few licenses.
My boys are at secondary school and we have just bought them a new laptop how would they get office through school on their personal laptop?

The school should give them a link to click on, but if they don't

It only works if the school have registered that email address with microsoft- they should block register all current email addresses at the start of term, and stops working about 12 months after the email address dies when they leave the school.

I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))
  • The school hasnt even mentioned this.
How can they find out if the school is registered for this?
Also my wife works in a school as a science tech do u think she would be able to get this?

Myself, family  & friends have successfully used online companies such as electronicfirst.com and had no issues. My current Office key was bought in 2020 and still works (Office 2019).
I imagine eventually Microsoft may go to an annual subscription only, but my current needs for the features of Office are fairly basic so I'm happy with an older version for now

    Similar here
I have bought two "5 user" Office accounts off E Bay for under a tenner and both work fine and receive all the MS updates.

Search for Office 2021 "professional plus" on the same site - less than £4 gets you your own installation - not a networked system
I have always preferred the files to be on my own device rather than in the cloud !
plus it doesn't expire after 12 months
Whilst 2021 may not appear to be up to date (its only 2 years old - and will update to be safe enough)

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.
