Is the tide £75 offer eligible with the refer a friend bonus?

Just opens Tide account for the £75 bonus but noticed there’s a refer a friend £50 offer as well. So as I’ve just applied for the £75 offer could I use the refer a friend offer to refer my husband so he applies for the £75 then uses my Refer a friend £50 offer code in the app. The terms for the £75 offer states not in conjunction with any other Tide offer. So does that mean we can’t apply for the refer a friend offer at the same time as the refer a friend offer?

  • Do you have a link to the £75 offer ?
  • Yes correct you can only claim one offer at a time.

If you speak to support over chat in the app they’ll help and ensure you get the right offer working. They respond very quick.

On a side note I’m surprised they haven’t been shut down or removed the offer. There’s tons of places online openly promoting people to make multiple accounts to get these free bonuses without having a business. And I’m certain it’s Tide itself encouraging it which just seems odd

It is a little ambiguous in its application process, I've just signed up and was very careful not to agree to anything that confirmed that "I" am a limited company or a sole trader even though that is their stated customer focus and who the account is aimed at. I am a company called firstname lastname on their books. All OK and my debit card is on the way.

There may even be Quidco/TCB extras but these are usually hard to confirm when signup is via an app.

It's not a bank and does not offer credit so no hard search.
  • Small follow up, been a week since signup and have already had a cold call from Tide extolling the virtues of upgrading to their paid-for tier of membership.

Perfectly professional and polite, but unsolicited and unwanted.

I've spent my £100 on petrol at ASDA but found the card very hit or miss being accepted.

Just a case of waiting now I guess.

Wish I had known about this TopCashback offer beforehand though. If I hade signed up to Tide via the TopCashback website would I of received an additional £80?

    https://www.topcashback.co.uk/tide-bank/

I've never used TopCashback so no idea how good the site is.

*edit, think it is one offer or the other not both although £5 more and a lot quicker.

    • What will stop me getting cashback?
      • Using a promotional/voucher code not posted and approved by TopCashback.

Were the acceptance problems just at ASDA petrol pump prepay? Might be because Tide is a prepayment card rather than a debit/credit card and might be iffy for, err, prepayments?

Re TopCasback, I did sign up via their Tide page, and then waited a week, checked that my visit to Tide's website had been noted and raised a claim since no sign of cashback on my account.

The one thing that TopCashback (& Quidco) are not is quick - pay-out lags of 6 months or more are not unusual.

The use of these cashback sites should always be with the assumption that you won't get the money, so if the T&Cs disqualify me so be it.

Yes ASDA petrol pump prepay. I think the payment needed verification via the app which took awhile and the transaction timed out. It did work in same places better than others.

Too good to be true eh!

Often so, although occasionally the cashback can surprise even an old cynic like me - recent pay-out on a boiler service/cover policy returned 70% of the cost (paid after 10 months).
  • Forgive my ignorance but is Tide only for business accounts meaning I couldnt open one as a personal user?
