Hello everyone
Moved in last year and bathroom ceiling paint has started to peel off
So we scraped it off ready to repaint
Any recommendations for which paint to use to paint ceiling?
It gets quite damp and lots of condensation on surfaces during showers
Below pic of the ceiling

Zinsser Perma White Anti Mould Paint is good for bathroom ceilings. It says in the technical data sheet that if you're applying the paint to bare plaster, it needs to be sealed with a primer first.1

I applied Zinsser Gardz sealer to my bare plaster bathroom ceiling before using the Perma White.0

Judging by that plaster I’d suggest they just put paint straight on top of this. You need to put on a mist coat first otherwise it’ll just peel straight off.
Why is there so much condensation? Do you not have an extractor fan?0 -

The paint is fantastic, but a decent fan (and/or having the window permanently cracked open) will really help with the dampness generally.0 -
I contacted Zinzzer when we had our bathroom done to confirm with them on this. They said:
Gardz if you have it, then two coats of perma white
Diluted 123, by 10%, then two coats of perma white
They did not recommend a 'traditional' mist coat as such.
If you tape round the spots be sure to pull the tape off as soon as you have painted so it doesn't skin over and form a bond - I found that the hard way, In fact I now use these things called 'Spot Drops' which allow you to have the spot held away for you - very useful0
