Help!! Old hem line on trousers

Hi, I hope someone can help.
I have an old pair of M&S trousers, a mix of viscose and polyester with some elastane. When I bought them they were too long so I took them up and wore them for years.
However, having put on (ahem!) a certain amount of weight they are now pulled up by my expanding girth
, and are too short. So last night I unpicked the hems and they're the perfect length now.
The only problem is the clear line where the hem has been folded over. I've not tried ironing them so far, but I wondered if anyone had any good suggestions before I tried? Maybe there's a secret knack to this that I don't know about?
TIA

Hi,damp cloth and iron should do the trick, or turn outside in and spray, slip some stiff cardboard between material, and iron firmly.1

Thank you frugalmacdugal, I'll give that a go, was worried that I might end up 'setting' the crease if I wasn't careful. Like the cardboard idea, I'll keep that in reserve if the iron isn't enough.Aiming to declutter 365 in 2023

I don't think it is the crease line that is the problem. The line will be a wear mark even maybe fraying where the bottom of the trousers have touched the floor.
