Fixed tariff coming to an end - what to do?
Luckily I've been on a 2 year fix, but that is coming to an end at the start of October. I have been paying £70 a month and have about £200 credit. I dread to think what I'll be paying next month.
I've done a few quotes, but really don't know whether to go onto a 1 year fix, or just stay on a variable tariff? I'm thinking one of the variable tariffs, but it's really hard to know what to do.
Currently with Sainsbury's - Eon. For the last 12 months this has been my annual usage.

One for you my friend. If you want certainty in an uncertain World - then fix. If you are happy to see how the market plays out, then stick with the capped tariff or speculate with a Tracker or Agile (Octopus) which are currently saving consumers a lot of money.jonnypb said:Luckily I've been on a 2 year fix, but that is coming to an end at the start of October. I am in the same position with British Gas and my fix ending 31 October. BG care so little about their customers I am leaving asap for Octopus so I don't have a problem making the decision of what to do. I think the answer Dolor gave is a good one.0

can only tell you from my experience. just as you are, was paying £70 gas and elec with EON, for 2 years, just sent me a quote from end this month, will be paying £172.59p from £70, thats a 147% increase ! frightened to death i am, as god knows i won't be able to heat the house this winter with the central heating, if i can afford candles-that might have to be the heating. tried a quote from octopus, but that was more. still EON only announced a 4.9 billion profit for the first half of this year, poor luvs, sorry it's not good news.

Mainstream tariffs from major suppliers are all very similar prices. Octopus has some smart tariffs that are currently cheaper, but there's no guarantee that they will remain so.Iwannawinlotto said:tried a quote from octopus, but that was more.
EON is a 30 billion Euro mulitinational conglomerate. EONs profits on their UK energy business were not 4.9 billion.Iwannawinlotto said:EON only announced a 4.9 billion profit for the first half of this yearN. Hampshire, he/him.
