Not really a issue as most manufactures give at least a 7 year warranty on these batteries. So they are more than happy that they are not going to be a cash drain to them.

To finish my query here, I have now had 3 calls from the dealer and finally today they have offered me a new car with no change to my monthly payments! They had a target of 6 cars to sell by the end of the month and the CEO had apparently sanctioned further discussion with clients who had been the most likely to take up the offer.
The manager of my dealership came through to explain to me that dealerships like theirs are now in a very tight position between customer and Honda UK. With the deal I received I can well believe it. Our new car arrives on December 1st.
