Lost certificates

What happens if a medical certificate is lost in the post? At this time of year it's bound to happen so what do people do if it does? Does their payments get stopped?

Most claims have already been paid in advance over the Christmas period.
Where a med cert has been delayed, and payment is due, JCP could if possible, confirm that it was issued by contacting the GP.
If the cert is lost in the post, a duplicate will need to be obtained from the GP.0 -
Depending on the local office, if its a terrible inconvenience to get another cert- housebound for example, the processing staff, may, be able to contact the GP, who would have on record which med certs had been issued. This isn't all offices mind you.RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.

The payments do stop untill an up to date cert is sent in, the payments will be backdated but it's still a real bind. I've had several certs go missing in the post, I send mine by recorded delivery now, It's cheaper than having to take them the 45 mile round trip to my closest jsp
IanI had debts, my circumstances changed, I tried but couldn't pay them, I dealt with them in the best way I could.........

This may not be the case, it all depends on the local office, some offices would allow up to maybe a two week period to receive the medcert. I wouldn't panic, just give them a ring, keep them informed of the situation.RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.
