I use Facebook, and Messenger on my Android phone, and my pc. On my phone, Facebook is showing I have an unread message/chat. On Messenger, it isn't. On my pc, Facebook doesn't show any unread messages/chats at all. When I get a new message, on my phone, Messenger shows I have 1 unread message, whereas Facebook says I have 2. Insn't there a way of marking all messages/chats as read? It's really annoying. I have a Samsung A13.

Go to www.facebook.com/messages/ in a browser and you should be able to see what is unread.on the left hand side.

Did that, on my phone. No unread messages visible, but when I opened the Facebook app on my phone, the notification had gone. Don't know why it worked, but it seems to have, so thanks for that.Neil_Jones said:Go to www.facebook.com/messages/ in a browser and you should be able to see what is unread.on the left hand side.

I keep getting similar issues, it's frustrating, but not as frustrating as some of the other recent changes to Facebook. Sometimes it's a "community chat" that someone has started in a group you're in - if I could turn off that feature so I never get invited to them, I'd be happy.1

Could be a buggy update , ebay did that 2 updates ago even though all messages were read it always said you had unread messages and only changed when you next got a new message, thankfully it's fixed now
Note to tech companies stop changing things for the sake of changing things and then not testing them properly and wondering why you start getting loads of complaints!1 -
Yed, oh to be able to stop those extra group chats.droopsnoot said:I keep getting similar issues, it's frustrating, but not as frustrating as some of the other recent changes to Facebook.
