Intelligent Octopus - but what about gas?

Hi,
We're looking at switching to Octopus as new customers, and then to Intelligent Octopus, for their cheaper night rates as we recently bought an EV.
However, this is an electricity only tariff. Do Octopus do solo gas tariffs to go with this, or do we need to find a different supplier for gas only? The Octopus website says something along the lines of 'this is electricity only. Need gas, choose one of our gas tariffs' but I can't see any.
Having only ever fixed with dual fuel suppliers, this is all a bit new to us!

Octopus offer their Tracker tariff for both gas and/or electric, rates change daily based on wholesale rates.
Todays rate in my region, for example, is 4.63p. Its been below 4p for periods this summer and not known it go above 5p for ages, bar one day the other week.

You have to start off on their bog standard tariff and then request to move onto this by email.0 -
Octopus offers standalone gas tariffs. Tariffs can be found here:stannie203_2 said:Hi,

Ok, thanks for that. I presume that's the only way of having both fuels with Octopus if we choose Intelligent (electricity) for the EV?
How common is it for people to have different suppliers for gas and electricity? I guess that's our other option?0 -
Yes, you can have separate suppliers but imho not a good idea if you have smart meters. I am switching to Octopus Intelligent at midnight today. My gas supply is on a separate contract with Octopus. I can change that at will.stannie203_2 said:Ok, thanks for that. I presume that's the only way of having both fuels with Octopus if we choose Intelligent (electricity) for the EV?

Why isn't it a good idea? We've only recently had a smart meter installed so not up on this![Deleted User] said:

I entered in my postcode, selected 'domestic' from filters but all the tariffs are either electricity only, or electricity + gas together. Maybe they don't do solo gas in my region?!0 -
Because the gas and electricity meters connect to a single communications hub. An all too common system fault is a communications hub loss of WAN connection with the DCC network which will require a remote or physical reset. Which supplier would you contact? In my view, it is easier to have one smart meter set up and one supplier. Octopus also has one of the best smart meter teams in the country.stannie203_2 said:

They show the rates together because the tariffs are called the same things for both electricity and gas, and it's simpler to show electricity and gas prices in the same box rather than having separate gas and electricity information for every single tariff.stannie203_2 said:

They will certainly let you on one tariff on gas only and a different electricity tariff. It would be a really weird business decision not to, since they offer so many smart electricity tariffs that don't have a gas equivalent!0 -
I'm with Octopus (see my signature block). Electricity is Go, gas is Tracker. It works well for me.

Having just moved to Octopus (duel fuel) as now have a EV. Set up IO & can tell you that your gas stays on Flexible tariff.
7.44p/kWh 27.47p/day for us.
Have had separate suppliers for Gas & Electric in the past due to botched switch by Bulb. Never again. Far too much trouble managing to separate accounts, with 2 companies..Life in the slow lane0 -
Octopus customers can choose any gas tariff - Flexible - 12 month Fixed ( £75 exit fee) or Octopus Tracker ( Smart Meter required)born_again said:stannie203_2 said:Ok, thanks for that. I presume that's the only way of having both fuels with Octopus if we choose Intelligent (electricity) for the EV?
