I have just bought a USB C to USB C lead to charge my Motorola phone faster, from my turbopower equipped laptop - it does say "turbopower connected"
And it does not speed up charging at all
Any advice ?

I presume you will only get Turbo power charging from a Wall outlet charger
  • Suspect it may be down to the state of the phone battery, I've got the same situation with a Moto G7 Power that I've replaced the battery on. Doesn't matter what charger I use (even the one that says "TurboPower" when connected, it still takes a good while to charge.

Try a different cable.............not all cables are the same

No - some laptops provide a  turbo power USB C port as well

its a brand new Anker cable - supposedly the correct one for the job

Snap - my Motorola is also a G7 Power with a replacement battery

Maybe the replacement needed to be a Genuine (read expensive) Motorola battery for Turbo to work rather than the cheapy no-name I found on Ebay for about £12, complete with really useful umpteen-bit battery replacement toolkit.

My replacement battery was supposedly a genuine Motorola part fitted by a phone shop !
    cost £45 fitted

What's the wattage output of the current wall wart you're using to charge your phone?

How fast did you expect the laptop to charge your phone?

I have a G7 power, with turbo power on it does about 1% a minute.
Just plugged into the PC it takes 4 or 5 hours from 50% to 95%.

I don't like turbopower, it can't do the battery much good considering how warm it gets.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
