in IVA & DRO
I work for an insurance company in claims.
I started my Iva in feb, so far so good.
Payplan asked me about my job with it being in the finance sector. I checked my contract and there was no clause about bankruptcy or insolvency. Never had a credit check or anything like that whilst working there for 10 years. They advised this would be fine.
just found out my employers do random “background” checks. I don’t know what this entails, but imagine it involves a credit check.

I am so full of anxiety. Has anyone else ever been in this situation? I don’t feel comfortable talking to my managers about my Iva, it’s a very gossipy environment and I am ashamed.
can anyone give any advice? Can you reject a random credit check with work? Can they do it without your knowledge? It’s not on my contract so I don’t see how this is fair!

After lengthy conversations with both step change and Payplan over the course of a couple months after I had a lifestyle change, they both advised this would be the best option for me. I’ve so far felt settled and supported but now I can’t stop worrying.I don’t own my own house. I can’t remember my debt total, in the region of £20k0
