Why does the Santander site say it will be available until 17th Sept?

This issue is available until 17 September 2023 unless sold out sooner.

  • I urge Forumites to invest 5 minutes in setting this up. It took me 3 the other weekend.

It’s probably being withdrawn early as it’s been very popular. As Martin advised - just open one and you should be able to invest more at the same rate
  • Thanks so much for this tip. Got round to applying around 11pm last night half expecting that I would not make it in time. Woke up this morning and lo and behold, I had got the high rate and exactly as Martin had warned, the rate being offered this morning is pants!
  • Lol. I told my younger sibling your last chance tonight. He’s reply “ I can’t be bovvered, I earn 40k a year”

  • So I got an email this morning confirming my account that I applied for last night . It does say the 5.2% rate but says I’ll be sent the pin and  security code in the post . Can I just pay in to the account today anyway using the sort code and account number ? Seems a bit concerning to do it when I won’t be able to log in for 7 days or so ?

I personally would @Jchisley - just send over a small amount to ensure that the account is funded and remains open.

Thanks - but wait until the pin and security codes come in the post before transferring a large sum ?

If you’ve already got their app or online banking it will already be showing up on there. No need to wait for any paperwork
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
