Parking Charge notice on private access road

I have been sent a Parking charge notice from a company based in Crawley, I have not paid the fine and my 14 days "discount" opportunity has passed. The notice includes am image of my vehicle and I can affirm that I was on that site at that time. The site is not a car park but a roadway between a MacDonald's drive thru and a BP petrol station. Having entered the site I found that the access roadway was one way and I was travelling in the wrong direction, so could not exit the site, as it was very busy and I was towing a trailer. I pulled over so as not to cause congestion in a busy site, there was no way of turning around and exiting the site until other vehicles moved, which took some time. Although there were ample signs warning me not to park, or reverse once on site the "one way" road status was not clearly marked (the single no entry sign was obscured by traffic exiting the site) there was really nothing I could do but wait for the
the opportunity to turn and exit again. is this a valid appeal? I cannot find the company on the BPM site and the other site doesn't work.

One important thing to do is not to guess as to the identity of the driver on the day, never use terms like I parked/entered and so on , not even he/she/mum/dad/son/daughter/next door neighbour or anything like that always refer to the event in the third term - so instead of my mum drove the car and parked/entered the car park refer to it as the car parked/entered the car park/area
