PCN from Excel parking - no longer operating at the site

Hi everyone,

I received a PCN from excel parking at the Berkeley centre, Sheffield. This arrived yesterday 11/09/23 in the form of a final reminder - I’d received nothing from them prior to this. Anyway after trawling this site and finding loads of useful appeal information etc. I’ve found an article about Excel being kicked off the site in question so they are no longer operating there as of 01/08/23. My question therefore is how do I handle this, do I still have to appeal or can I just ignore it on the basis they are no longer contracted to manage the site?

Thanks in advance

Makes no difference at all to your case, if the parking event was before they were dragged off site kicking and screaming!

    You should not ignore it.

    Certainly no paying!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ok so my next question is do I still use the standard appeal template or try and get it cancelled with the retailers on site? It’s so long after the event and I received no pcn or correspondence until now so only have a couple of days to act. This is all new to me so apologies for my lack of knowledge on the subject.

I’d assumed them being kicked off the site for poor signage and general practice would mean they wouldn’t take any cases to court through fear of nothing holding up

The retailer can no longer tell Excel to cancel a PCN because they have no commercial relationship, so you will have to waste ten minutes doing a pointless 'appeal' (no chance) then ignore them completely until you get a claim.

Use the standard template. However, you should always try Plan A first. Have you tried to contact the landowner?

Thanks for the replies, as above I’ve not done anything yet as I only received this yesterday. I’ve spent my time reading through all the info on here to decide on my next steps.

    No the opposite is true.

Will the fact that they’ve been kicked off the site help my case at any stage of the process?
