I have a BT6500 DECT phone with 4 extensions and the base phone has stopped, working it just has a blank screen.
I've changed the batteries but still blank.
Will it matter if I use one of the other phones on the base station?

It'll be fine.

There isn't a "base phone" - there's just the phone you happen to have sitting on the base - the base being the thing that connects to the phone socket and which also has a charging cradle. Any of the other phones could equally well sit on the base or not sit on the base and be charged by one of the other charging stations you probably have.

Just to say, if you want to test if the phone has "gone" rather than just the batteries, then you can just put ordinary batteries in it to see if it powers on. Do NOT put it in the cradle whilst the ordinary batteries are in it though, and best to take them out once you have tested it as they will not last long. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
