Two Virgin Money CCs - can you consolidate?

Options
I've previously (thanks to learning about it from this forum) consolidated Capital One cards to give myself a higher limit on the original card (£700 + £400 limits into one £1100 limit, and later applied for and added a new £500 limit card to give me £1600, as they weren't offering a limit increase). I'm wondering if people have had success doing the same with Virgin? I've found some old threads with conflicting information - some people have been able to do it and some have been told a flat-out no. Wondering if anyone's tried this recently and what's been the result?

Thanks!

I tried it at one point - they said no - so I closed the second card.

Damn it! How long ago was this out of interest?

    Thanks for the response.
  • As a new customer virgin offered me a £500 limit which I was told by one person it cant be increased for 6 months, then a 2nd person stated it can be appealed.  bit late now as the card has been sent back and closed.

my credit record is spotless, no defaults nothing.  not sure there is a consistent trend to what lenders are doing

Probably about 18 months I'd say...  Since then I've increased my main card's limit from £5k to £8k by filling in the little online form over two steps - £5k - £6.5k - £8k every 6 months.

Oh that's good to know, thanks for the tip.
