Sleep tracker recommendations

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a sleep tracker. Ideally one which will indicate how far off I  might be from deep sleep etc.

One which monitors steps etc would be a bonus, but it's not a dealbreaker.

I have a Garmin sportwatch (a fenix 6s) that does this. Have you considered a sport watch as an option? I'm not sure what your budget is, but Garmin have several models with sleep tracking, for example the Venu model is currently on sale at £279.99 (down from £349.99).

It won't indicate in real time how far off deep sleep you are, but it will show you how your sleep breaks down into light, deep, etc. and it will give you a score to show how effective the sleep has been - there are questions on how accurate these metrics are though.

i have a garmin vivomove HR watch with the garmin app on my android phone.  So it tracks my heart rate, sleep patterns, steps, tells me when I've got a phone call to answer, recd a text or email, someone's posted on facebook.  You can set it up with less notifications.

This was a step up for me from one of their previous cheaper, simpler models.  I've had this one for about 5 years and the previous "fitbit" equivalent for 5 before that.

Garmin vívomove Sport | Hybrid Smartwatch   This is the current equivalent to mine.

  • Samsung phone? Their smartwatch from 2 years ago (v4) does a good job of sleep monitoring albeit after the fact, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

Because it's not the latest it can be had for around £150.

My cheap and cheerful Huawei Band 6 has s sleep tracker, they are now up to version 8 I believe.

One small downside is that you have to download the Huawei Health app directly as they still haven't sorted their spat with the mighty US of A.

It also does a myriad of other tracking, I use mine for pool swimming and it even knows which stroke I use, best £39.99 I have ever spent.

It's not just the USA they have a spat with - but if you're happy to pay to let the Chinese government track you (and access all the data on your phone), then crack on.

Apparently the latest Huawei Band will happily connect to an Apple fitness app too so you can share with the US Government.

Edit : After further investigation the Huawei Health app is actually available for the iphone directly from the Apple store.

@Emmia don't let paranoia get the better of you.

I use sleep cycle on apple, no idea if it's available on android. It monitors deep sleep and brief waking. Shows sounds, and breathing disruptions. Also shows how many steps walked that day.
