New Computer Problems

Just bought a new PC from Bigpockets, chose it without an OS cos i could buy one cheaper elsewhere.
Anyway set it all up this morning, formatted, installed Win XP Pro, installed motherboard drivers etc, installed Gfx drivers. All seemed ok. Started to install the modem driver so i could get online to validate Windows and do updates etc but got an error half way through and it didnt install properly.
Tried a different modem/driver, still wouldnt install, tried several times but gave up.
Thought i'd try a few games but none would install properly, different errors including missing files etc. Thought maybe the failed modem install had messed things up so formatted again. Got as far as 4 minutes left installing Windows and it just stayed there for more than half hour.
So rebooted and another format (pulling hair out by now) Windows installed ok this time but another error while trying to install sound drivers from the motherboard driver disc. So i have now given up.
Am i right in thinking there is something seriously wrong with this PC or am i missing something
If it was just one error for the same thing each time then i'd know what the prob was but its different things each time as the sound driver installed fine first time but not now.
I've spent all day messing with it and am seriously peed off.
Unless anyone can shed any light on this i am going to phone them tomorrow :mad:

Its something different every time tho and i cant remember them all :rolleyes:

Surely i shouldnt be having this many problems with a brand new PC

You don't say what make, but if it's a well known one, go to their website and see if they have a diagnostic program for your model. This should show whether you have a hardware problem and, if so, justification that the supplier should replace it immediately.
