D&G sets up a policy for 1 year which you can pay monthly.  Usually the first year is really cheap and then when they send you a renewal for year 2 the prices are much higher.  They seem to work ok if you can deal with them online but are a pain if you need to ring.

I had a policy on our electric oven but only because it was starting to act up and it was way out of warranty having been installed a few years before we bought the house.  They did a lovely job fixing a couple of things that went wrong and as things seem to be ok now I stopped the policy.

Depends on how reliable they have been , how much you want to waste on what are usually worthless policies. Availability of parts for your model,  what the t and Cs are, what they say they will do if it can't be repaired, how handy you are fixing things yourself.

Personally I think they are a waste of money but I have the knowledge to fix things myself.

Before you consider it I would be going through the t an Cs with a very fine tooth comb

How much is the insurance per year?
How much are your appliances worth?
What's the maximum age they'll cover?
Could you afford to replace the appliances if they broke?

In most cases white good warranties dont represent great value for money and there are many cases on here of people spending multiple times the items value on warranties over the years. You may find putting money aside into a home emergency pot ultimately works out better for you as long as you dont dip into the pot for other reasons (unless you can simply afford to buy a replacement)
