    Hi,
Amazon sell the upgrade for £26.99 (free p+p). Other sellers on Amazon have it from £19.99. I got it as an upgrade for sw 2003 and it works fine. Antivirus is the main component as are 12 months worth of updates.
Having an up to date AV programme is a must.(Along with a firewall and antispyware)
You could of course go for one of the free antivirus programmes often discussed here.

Something you might want to try......

Remove the software (using the add/remove programs option in Control panel) and re-install.

In my experience, Norton always grants you a one-year licence from the date you install the product. By removing and re-installing, it 're-sets the clock'!

I've removed/re-installed my Norton products many times over the years, usually in tandem with a fresh Windows re-install. Have always found that I get a full year's licence from the date of installation/re-installation :-)

    Cheers,
    Don

Yep if you re format your hard drive you will get an extra year for free. Have a look on ebay I think Norton system works is about £20 delivered.

This is only on the older Norton programs, won't work with 2005 onwards

Are you sure? I just re-formatted by hard disk, re-installed windows, re-installed Norton Systemworks 2005, and......I have another year of virus updates :-)

    Works for me!

    Cheers,

oh ok sorry - I thought it was the case - if anyone was to have a copy of NS 2005 'I believe' you have to jump through a few extra hoops with the registration. Thought it was the same with the 1yr licence
  • If you want to fully unistall Nortons and use a new virus protector, there are loads to choose from and everybody has their own preference, visit symantec's site where they have a clean up tool/program - this, they say, removes all traces that add/remove programs do not.

You should then be safe to install what ever make of anti virus you want.
