Paypal Bank scam??

No, I don't have paypal. They are wanting to pay from their paypal account direct into my bank account

Thats not possible. Would need to be PayPal to PayPal or Bank Account to Bank Account.

I'd never heard of that before, but yes it does look possible then and hard to say if its a scam if that is what they are doing.

Thanks for all the feedback. I don't really have anything to do with paypal so grateful for the advice.
After a few more questions and offering to wait while he sorted a bank transfer he suddenly disappeared.
I must have upset him!!!!

Just say for instance that somebody's Paypal account has been hacked - dirty money from it transferred to your bank account (through friends and family?).
Guaranteed in a few days or weeks Paypal will contact your bank to stay the proceeds paid into your account is dirty money - so your account is blocked/frozen/potentially closed down - and your boat has long sailed away.

You end up with no boat and a debt to Paypal or your bank.
