Parking fine mistake.

Hi All,
I received a parking fine today for an overstay, thing is I didn’t overstay and I have the proof as I kept the parking ticket, they have clearly made a mistake but I can’t be bothered to go through the appeal process as this isn’t my fault.
should I ignore the fine?

It is not a fine.... well, I suppose it might be... who issued the thing?

You would be very silly to ignore it. But if you can't be bothered... so be it.

Is there a VRM typo on the machine ticket/receipt ir app?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • Your choice whether to appeal or not but you will have to defend in court or get a default CCJ which would be costly. PPCs earn a fortune by undefended claims. Judges also frown on defendants that have not bothered to engage with the claimants to narrow the issues prior to court. I suggest you do bother and give them your evidence of their mistake or VRN typo / machine fault.
  • Premier park issued the the fine, £60 now or £100later.
their mistake and not mine but I have to go through hassle and time to sort this.

It still isn't a fine it's an invoice!
Without giving us more info you won't get much help, other than to read the newbies thread.
Why are you saying it's their fault?
    Was it anpr?
If so was it a double dip?
Did you make a keying error?
    Where was this?
Loads of things need answers to get to the bottom of this, yes it's time consuming that's the way they like it it wears people down into paying up so their boss can get his new BMW out of you.
If you ignore it you you will probably regret it unless in Scotland or NI!
  • Good Morning All

    New to this forum

18/09/2023 I parked my car in Exchange Ilford Car Park at 20.30  and paid via  app - Your parking Space
I put in the Car registration in app - I put an extra letter which was my mistake.

Hence why the sent me parking fine letter

They sent me letter dated 25 Sept which I never got, so I was unware of this, otherwise I would have appeal straight away

Then I received a letter dated 24/10/2023 that fine had gone up £100

I emailed them   attached the two screenshots  of my booking on Your Parking Space

I have hope these screenshots be enough to close the matter and to show that I did make payment but put in the wrong Car registration ( I add an extra letter)

They have emailed me back today 8/11/2023 saying

    Hi

Unfortunately, appeals must be submitted within 28 days of the original PCN being issued.

As the timeframe to appeal ended on 23-10-2023, you are no longer able to submit an appeal online.

However, we have reset the 14-day due date to allow you to pay the reduced rate.

All notices sent by post are assumed to be received on the second working day after the day it is posted unless the contrary is proved.

We receive keeper details from the DVLA and can provide proof of postage for all letters sent by mail, and as such cannot take liability for a Parking Charge Notice not having been received. I have attached the letter below for your reference.

    Kind Regards,

    Park Maven

Any advise on what next steps should be?

Do I have ground to win if they take me to court?
    Should I pay?
Can I take them to Small Claims court?

    Regards

Yes, after reading the NEWBIE sticky, which we advise everyone to read first, please start your own thread as it can become confusing trying to answer more than one poster on the same thread.
