Presumably so you don't risk (or reduce the risk) using over 100% of the allowance and getting charged!400ixl said:How does saving a little on your roaming allowance make any difference to what you pay? Surely you pay the same amount whether you use 1% or 99% of your allowance?

Photo your passport and keep it in your email draft folder.
I always take stock cubes, but that's just me.
Fill a usb with crap TV in case of seriously bad weather.
If you ever find a plastic corkscrew, buy a couple.1 -
I always take decaf teabags and decaf coffee sachets, along with mint and camomile tea bags.bigfer said:Photo your passport and keep it in your email draft folder.

And remember to use it400ixl said:If in a city look at whether there are city passes for multiple attractions and whether you plan to visit enough of them to make it value for money.
we had the Naples one this April, (two free entries + train / underground) used it for entry to Pompeii and for travel but forgot it completely when going in the Archaeological museum and bought tickets, only remembered when going through my pockets in the hotel later. Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -
Research any museums/attractions which normally charge and see if they have any days which are free and how you access free tickets,1

Personally have a photo of passport in cloud storage so on all my devices at all times not just when going on holiday. It's a file set to store locally so can be accessed without internet. Dont tend to carry my wallet these days and have randomly been asked for ID in some unexpected places at times so comes in useful. The security on cloud storage is probably better than on email too.bigfer said:Photo your passport and keep it in your email draft folder.

This is a great tip! I'll definitely do this when going somewhere. Actually, it can be helpful in a daily life either.

Effectively the same thing, but when travelling as a couple or in a group we have stuff like passport photos, boarding passes, hotel booking confirmations etc in a WhatsApp chat, so it's available on multiple phones and also in the WhatsApp ether. WhatsApp seems to cache stuff going back ages, so it's available offline as well, but usually download important stuff to the phone as well.goled said:DullGreyGuy said:

If travelling alone I'll have a print of important stuff, pointless having it in the cloud as I'll only have one device with me.
