Thank you, had they not stated in email they wanted pictures of sides back and front of sofa and chair plus batch numbers I would not of seen fault1

You should also check how you are measuring (sofas and chairs are not box shapes) and also whether the item is in use. As sitting on them may well cause upholstered part to become wider/longer. Depending on the design this could make a difference .2

I just went into sofology and asked them to measure cuddle chair and it was 4 cm’s out from website measurements, he said he had worked at sofology for over a year and that was the first time he had measured a chair or sofa and it wasn’t the same as on website. He measured across in two places and told me you measure from seam to seam. He was generally perplexed and my husband filmed us, he went to speak to his manager who recognised me and the salesman came back not so helpful and said sofas and chairs can be smaller by up to 4 cm than website measurements. He said sofology do not giver refunds even if any faults are reported before 30 days after delivery. He also explained the 5 years sofashield insurance completely wrong to me.0

You should use different joints depending on the grain and density of the wood but plenty of pitch pine church pews still going strong in less than ideal conditions well over 100 years old.0 -
Nothing wrong with pine except salesman told me sofa has no pine in only ‘quality wood’ his words not mine0

Dimension wise +/- 2% is considered acceptable manufacturing tolerance.

Potentially also an offence under Unfair Trading Regulations insofar as it might mislead a consumer as to what their rights are under legislation.0 -

ripley182 said:Thank you @RefluentBeansI when I recorded size differences in measurements of sofa and chair we then saw and sent pictures to sofology of a fault in the back of the chair. Where two bits of wood and seams meet it sticks out and very noticeable so I have a fault in the chair
[That is always assuming, of course, that what you have found - I haven't seen it - is a sufficient "fault" to mean that the chair no longer complies to the contract.]
If I were you I think I'd use that as my primary argument with Sofology and only use the measurement discrepancy as a backup argument. I say that because I'm not 100% convinced that a 4cm variation on each of the two items of furniture delivered to you are sufficient for you to reject either or both of them.
NB - I'm not clear what remedy you actually want. Do you want to keep the sofa and reject the chair, and then replace the chair with a second sofa? And if so, are you happy to pay the difference between the price of the chair and the price of the new sofa?1
