    I have an Investec bond maturing in a fortnight, they are offerring 5.9% but I’ll hang on and see if the NSI offer is still going before I commit

    Thanks all. The 6.2% NS&I was one of the ones I was going to go for with the excess once I've stashed the first £20K in an ISA fixed bond.

    I don't feel so bad about my 4% 1yr Growth bond taken out in February now :p

    At least it isn’t a bond fund so the loss is not so visible !
