Travel insurance covering self-transfer

Hello
My partner is going to be taking a flight involving self-transfer.
Does anyone have any advice about insurance providers/policies that will cover her if she misses the second flight, if the first flight is delayed? I've done some research but it basically boils down to "it depends on the provider", but the providers usually aren't very clear!
The retailer (Kiwi.com) provides a guarantee for £100, but this doesn't feel very moneysaving!
Thanks
