Budget Aircon unit suggestions

I have a dog who has seizures. I haven't been sleeping well for the past few months since the last hot spell as she has been waking early but it's worse the last few days. I can't get my bedroom lower that 23.5 but it's quickly up to 24 or 25 which may be ok but she's unsettled. I'm leaving windows open but it doesn't really cool the room greatly. She was very unsettled overnight causing me to wake multiple times and then waking me up early in the morning and not settling after, even after I close the curtains. I'm pretty sleep deprived and not really functioning.
I keep the room and curtains shut. I have a tower fan a normal fan and a pedistal fan trying to get the heat out of the room but it doesn't seem to do anything.
Is there any budget Aircon units that are not too expensive to run? I guess I'm thinking 50-100 Max

You need a proper mobile Aircon unit , not one of those that advertised cooling using ice or water . It needs to vent the heat out of a window but are very effective in a small room
Cost around the 175 mark , cost about 10p an hour to runEx forum ambassador

The cheapest I can find is £200 from Curry's. as said above ensure that you find an air conditioner and not an air cooler or theres this from Amazon - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Portable-Conditioner-Dehumidifier-Cooling-Digital/dp/B09MT3YJLG/ref=psdc_306929031_t2_B00U65A9M8
They do need an external vent to get rid of the hot damp ai which means either a hole in the wall or a proper window fitting.
There's not much point in trying to cool the air in the room if you either allow the hot air to recirculate or leave a window open to drop the vent tube out as it will then try to cool and dehumidify the planet.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers4 -
Aircondirect.co.uk stock a range. As mentioned DO NOT buy an "evaporative cooler" or "air cooler" (the give-away is they have a capacity in litres), they sort of work by having a towel dangling in a tank of water, then when air blows through it and evaporates the water it cools the now more humid air.The Americans call them "swamp coolers" with good reason, within a few days they smell like a swamp and spray mould and bacteria into the air, they also increase the humidity to that of the Florida Everglades. You want to de-humidify the air so that your sweat works.I keep meaning to get a reversible heat pump like thisWay over budget for you, but they work as a heater in Winter taking 750W for 2.5KW of heat, as well as a 3KW cooler.I might get one next year as we could be in for another dreadful hot Summer.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Nearly all portable air con units come with an outside venting kit designed for US style sliding windows (similar to UK sash windows) that don't work with usual UK hinged windows. We had a tumble dryer type venting hole through the wall installed for ours. Hope this helps.

A charity shop in town had a good one wall mounted that couldn't have been vented by the location.I'll try and ask what the make is - could do with it myself.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

Thank you all. Sorry I haven't replied sooner, sleep deprivation was pretty bad and we only just settled back down before she had more seizures fortunately not due to the heat.
We ended up staying at my sisters house when it was really hot as their home was cooler.
I need to measure the room to find out what size aircon unit I need. Will definitely stay away from coolers. Definitely need to get one ready for next year.
Thank you again0
