Thanks for all the good wishes re little one starting school - I'm happy to report that she had a great first day and came out declaring 'I love school!' Phew! She looked so grown up in her tartan pinafore dress.  Her teacher managed her medical care well with a little help from nursery staff and DD on the phone. I feel a bit sorry for her teacher - it's a lot for her to have to do as well as have the other children. She's a lovely young teacher and has been at the school a couple of years now, it was her first teaching job.

That's great news DP1 - what a little star she is. Let's hope that her 'love' for school lasts.

Good morning all, thanks for starting nmlc.

Am I the only one with rain today? Got up and put a dress on, possibly the 1st time this 'summer'- went out for the dogwalk and noticed it spitting : D , got heavier so I changed into cropped pants and T shirt when I got back in. It's very grey

I mainly stayed inside yesterday, being an old stone house makes it very cool inside- great on hot days like yesterday, not so good in winter.

I've been making the most of the good drying weather, refreshing towels , blankets, jackets & was going to carry on today which isn't going to happen now. I may pop into town & visit the market.

DGD had a good 1st day at high school yesterday, DGS started back Tuesday and seems happy with his new teacher. Glad to hear everyone else got on ok too. I went with DS2 to pick up DGS yesterday, we called back here so he could go in the loft to get a fan to take home for his bedroom, he had one but DGD has pinched it for her room. Had to tell DGS that Mr. T delivered the wrong ice lollies as a sub for 2 packs- now got 3 of the wrong kind.

I cooked a chicken joint in the nin ja & made it into chicken shawarma with flatbread and salad for tea. Not sure about tonight but there's plenty in.

Morning everyone last day today and I’m off for a week it can’t come quick enough my washing has just been put out we have fine showers and it is so hot I’m sure it has to clear up I will be working at a snails pace today I have already done a cleaning job and got a bit of shopping I need to take away with us I just can’t wait for 4 o’clock. DP1 it’s lovely to hear little one has settled at school and all the other children my grandchildren all started back yesterday they all looked so grown up time is not standing still. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing
