PIP change of circumstanaces

hi,i am in receipt of PIP daily living lower£68.10 i have 3 months ago put in for a change of circumsrances due to my mobility getting much worse and am now on a waiting list for a full knee replacment

my actual award is due to run out November 2024

anyway a good few weeks ago got the txt that they had recieved it and nothing else till i got a txt today saying "about your pip claim the health proffessional has sent the report,we will make a decision on your pip but it may take 6 weeks before you hear from us,you will still continue to get pip while your award is being reviewed"

so i have had no face to face or phone consultation does this mean i wont have one now and maybe a paper based decision?i did send evidence from my consultant im wondering if this could be good news but again not sure how the DWP is working at the moment

Would be greatful for any thoughts on this
thank you for your ti]k,8me

It means (unless they've sent the text in error!) that a Healthcare professional has done a paper based review of the evidence following you triggering a review into entitlement and made recommendations on disablements to the DWP. This means they decided an in person assessment (phone or otherwise) was not required to provide their advice. They will have produced a report that you could request in the meantime by calling the DWP (number at top of PIP letters). The DWP as they advise will make a decision in coming weeks and send you that in the post. Such decisions tend to mirror the healthcare professional's report they commission.

Generally speaking I'd say it is a good sign. I think the fact you've been getting PIP and are reporting worsening of conditions along with evidence sets the tone for a decision to either be unchanged or increase the points scored... no guarantees... but a paper based review does suggest sufficient evidence was provided to give advice which leaves less room for a poor quality in person assessment and obviously avoids all of the stress and risk of that.

Tomorrow I would call PIP (prepare for a lengthy wait on phone!) and ask for copy of the report... it serves various purposes but one can be to put mind at some rest or at least prepare you for what is a likely decision coming. It would mean in all likelihood next week you'd have a good idea what decision the DWP will eventually send.
