New Broadband router question

BT are sending me a new router to supposedly solve my recently intermittent broadband. I am a bit sceptical that it will but it seems we have to go through this step before a engineer is sent.
I have a couple of dozen devices that use my WiFi, including a couple of friends' phones and laptops who connect when they visit. To save having to update every device individually can I simply change the SSID and password in the router to match my old setup? Will all the various devices then connect automatically or will they know it is actually a different router and all have to be setup again?
My main desktop computer has a wired connection so I should be able to access the router's setup from that.
Thanks

Yes, change the new router's SSID and Password to match your current setup and the devices will all connect as normal.0

Yes, that is the easy way rather than changing each device.I did just that when changing my broadband from SSE to BT.
I had already set the SSE router to my own SSID network name, so when the new BT Hub came I just unplugged the old router, plugged in the BT Hub, connected my laptop to it and changed the Hub's SSID/Password to the same SSID name and password as before. All my wifi devices reconnected seamlessly.Although if you haven't already changed the BT provided SSID to one of your own then now may be the ideal time to do that.
Doing that will mean changing the connection on each device as well though, but it's only once and does then give you an individualised SSID.Have fun with the SSID name you choose, and maybe give your neighbours a chuckle.

I prefer to pick a theme and then base stuff around that.My wireless networks are named after planets of the solar system (Jupiter and Venus) and my actual physical devices where I can name them are all named after Greek/Roman gods. So I'm posting this from Zeus at this point in time
I also have Eros over there which is my other computer I use for gaming. Notice the link
Next time I need to change router I will probably pick another theme. Might go for birds next time0
