Quote for external doors

Carpenter has quoted £2800 for
Installation of two external doors and frames
-Remove existing door frame to front and back
-Remove doors
-inspect door opening and prepare for new frame
-install new frame to front and back (back with fanlight window above approx. 100mm)
-hang new Oak external hardwood doors with heavy duty ball bearing hinges
-Install mortice sash locks to front and back with security capability -install handles
-install privacy window pane above door
-install draught seals to door frames
-seal frame with silicone sealant
-remove old doors and frames and any rubbish

This does not include the doors themselves

    A couple of questions to ask of him...
    1.  Will a lintel be fitted to support the outer leaf of brickwork if it is required ? (If you have a stone/concrete lintel visible from the outside, then extra support won't be needed).
    2.  Building Regulation compliance - Will he be handling all the Building Control/regulation paperwork, or is that being left to you to sort out ?
    If the latter, you will need a certificate confirming the thermal performance of the doors & frames meet current requirements (unless this is a listed property, in which case, there is a bunch more hoops you have to jump through).
