Can you tell us what brand and model of mp3 player it is please?

Did it work OK before or is this the first time it has been used?

"Flash Error" sounds like some sort of problem with the memory that stores the songs. Does it use a removable memory card (e.g. an SD card)?

It's probably just got a bit confused with being unplugged midway through a transfer. You may be able to reset it which might fix it (a bit like rebooting a PC). You can reset iPods for example. Try looking in the manual for any kind of reset option or try Googling.

So it's not branded? Doesn't give you any clue who makes it?

Definately nothing in the manual about doing a reset?

If it's got a removable battery, could try taking that out, wait a minute, then put it back in again. That might do it.

Other than that I'm out of ideas I'm afraid if it's not responding. The "flash error" message means some sort of memory fault. Might be easiest just to call it a dud and get it swapped out for a new one at Superdrug.
