Energy credit scam with email addresses

Fairly certain this is a scam - an email supposedly from gov.uk saying I'm eligible for £400 energy credit (no reason why) and all I need to do is give them my name, phone number, address, date of birth and a d/credit card number.  Just click on this lovely little button.....  Ah no.

But as I scrolled down I see this email trail  - what's that about?

  • 'Fairly certain' it's a scam?  Wow.

The previous emails a virus that has been using people's emails to send out high quality offers to others.

Make sure you're not now part of their zombie network.

How can I stop becoming part of their network?  I block senders of these sorts of emails but I get up to 50 a day for some reason and know that they can just generate endless senders' addresses.
