Need to boost volume on laptop

When on max, the vol on films is not loud enough, does anyone know how to increase it please.

Something that's worth trying - right-click the speaker symbol in your systray, then have a check that the source volume is set high enough - the main volume control only controls the overall sound and sometimes the individual sources default to low level.
But laptop speakers are generally tiny, so they distort at higher volumes. As in other posts, good to get external powered speakers, plug them into the headphones out - which usually silences the !!!!py internal ones...0
