Hi all
I've finally getting around to looking at CCTV for my home.
I'm hoping to have quite a simple setup with just a single camera.
Now for the potentially awkward bits
Needs to have somewhat decent night-vision (street-lights around here are garbage)
Needs to be either battery (with decent life)/solar powered (if these even exist) or POE (no sockets anywhere close to where the camera is needed)
Watching on my phone (live if possible) is a nice to have but recording is a must
Not a big fan of subscriptions so some sort of in-house drive for recording would be nice
Now for the big one - budget is around £150-£200.
I'm happy to fit it myself (as long as it's fairly straightforward and doesn't require loads of drilling).
Any help would be appreciated as there seem to be a whole host of systems out "there" with varying reviews.
TIA
Richard

Ive been quite happy with my Arlo cameras. Had them years and they work well. I think the latest up tp date versions are worth looking into.:A Goddess :A0

Have a look at TP-link Tapo C420 + solar panel.
https://uk.store.tapo.com/products/tapo-c420s1-tapo-a200
https://uk.store.tapo.com/products/solar-powered-2-camera-system
There are many other brands, but I would rather get a known brand as I don't purchase these every often.
BTW, I come across E27/ B22 security camera. If you already have a outdoor light fitting, you may consider that.0 -
One piece of advice for when it's working. Position the camera so that you can get to it for regular cleaning. The last thing you want is to need footage and find you have a recording of a spider web or bird poop with an out of focus scene behind.0

The 2 camera system is possibly overkill (although I could use the 2nd one elsewhere).
The only thing I couldn't see is where it records to. Am I missing something obvious?:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

The only thing I couldn't see is where it records to. Am I missing something obvious?I've done my best to check the specs and I don't see a memory card slot mentioned in the specs for the C420 - but then I don't know if that's the actual camera model that's being sold on that page.Either way, it appears those Tapo cameras are cloud based.1
