Also, what do I do if POPLA rejects?
You wait to see whether ECP wish to go further - could take months to find out. A POPLA adverse decision is not binding on the motorist.
I JUST WANT TO ENJOY MY FIRST WEEK OF UNI !!!!!!

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I get the feeling that that is what the OP meant @Umkomaas.  I hope he/she does have an enjoyable first week, without worrying about scam artists

Yep don’t worry guys it’s been great so far but for every sober waking hour it’s been chundling in the back of my mind. Either way I’ve put it off for as long as I could but the due date is Thursday so I had to get back onto it at some point lol. Not even a law student for goodness sake but I suppose most of you guys aren’t either haha

I would just enjoy your first week of Uni - forget all this - and NOT TRY POPLA.

That's my advice at this stage.

Those signs both have the £70 in 'big' so I don't see this winning at POPLA.  Forget it and ignore it as long as you come back here if you get a small claim within 6 years.

Also you have to email them, if the address they have for you changes within 6 years.

That's all you need to do, except make sure someone at the family home opens your letters for you if you are living away during term times (assuming the letters are going to the family home?).

And make sure the person opening those letters over the coming years DOES NOT PANIC AND PAY £170 TO SOME SCUM DEBT COLLECTOR. Got to be someone not spooked or duped easily by threatograms!

But sensible enough NOT TO IGNORE a Letter of Claim or Claim Form.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Has somebody removed all the full stops from your keyboard?  If you do decide to use that as a submission to anybody/anywhere, you might want to consider rewriting it so that those reading it have time to breathe and understand it.  Also the usual phrase is not: -
    inconspicuous in its presence

    but: -

    conspicuous by its absence

Okay cool thanks for this guys. I really do appreciate everyone who has commented on this thread it has definitely put me at ease. So just to clarify, would it actually put me at a disadvantage to appeal to POPLA, seeing as it’s legally binding?

If so, ignore debt collector letters, hope they forget about it within 6yrs, don’t ignore LBC or Claim Form and enjoy Uni. Got it! :)

    POPLA is NOT "legally binding".

That's what I'd advise my own kids who are just a bit older than you and two are at Uni.

Not that they'd ever get a private PCN as they are an anal about reading signs and avoiding the scammers as I am!
