Hello

Can anyone recommend a competitive Annual Travel insurance (worldwide) provider that allows longer duration trips, e.g 60 days or more per trip. I'm not looking for backpackers insurance.

Some of the providers that allow you to extend to longer duration trips with an extra fee are quite expensive (Avanti, Staysure).

So far on a brief search I've found Multitrip (60days), Virgin travel (94 day), Post office(60 days if extended). Multitrip seems to be the most competitive.

Are there any others you can recommend? Thanks

What I did for a long trip was open a bank account that has travel insurance, these type of accounts usually have a monthly cost, and phone and upgrade for the extended trip.

  • Thanks. These still seem quite expensive as I only need cover for myself. Which bank account did you join to get the extended trip cover? Most seem to cover upto 31 days and you have to phone in + pay extra to request extended cover.

How many days are you looking for? How often are you doing trips over 31 days?

We tend to use the packaged insurance from Barclays, you used to be able to extend a single trip to 90 days for a fee (which felt reasonable at the time) but they've changed the policy recently, you can now extend to 120 days but no idea what's happened to the pricing.

It may be cheaper to use single trip policies for your longer stays
  • I just need something around the 60-90 day per trip mark. If you know of a competitive insurer that would be helpful. The package deals might not work out best for me.
