ULEZ - need to buy a second hand car. Should I buy petrol to future proof against any future changes

As I never drive near a ULEZ I hadn't actually checked what was allowed in without charge - my little petrol cars are fine but my lovely diesels aren't. Fine by me as don't intend to drive through cities - but definitely petrol seems to be a better bet if you do
PS re the Mondeo - yes they always had good legroom, very helpful if you are tall0 -

I should have said that an EV won't work as I need to do 4/5 hundred mile journeys once or twice a year.born_again said:Future proofing would be a EV.
Why is that a problem?
You can charge while you stop for food, drink & comfort breaks.
Or you could hire a car with all the savings you have made by not having to buy all the fuel & charging car at cheap rates that mean 2p a mile costs.Life in the slow lane0 -
Unless you're doing huge mileage I'd be getting a petrol car anyway. Petrol which allow you an older car whilst still being ULEZ friendly.
