Is ebay safe? would i get my money back

Looked on ebay at some vintage watches and there are 2 NOS watches that are just what i am looking for, BUT they are in Romania, its a seller with an account that is 9 years ols and with 350 feedback.
Price of the watches is around £500 which is ok if they are real but i am just worried about it being Romania so does ebay return my money if i get nothing or it is not what is advertised?

I buy a lot of things on EBay but I wouldn't touch this.  My rule of thumb: if alarm bells ring, listen to them and scroll on.  There will be another one listed soon, if not now.

if you don't receive an item then you open an INR or item not received case and in general eBay sides with the buyer so you would probably get your money back

a defence to this by the seller might well be a tracking number showing an item received by you - whether or not you had received what you expected would be another matter

if you did receive something but it wasn't what you thought you were going to receive or wasn't up to spec then you can open and item significantly not as described case which would require you to post the item back at the seller's expense and once they had received it you would in theory be refunded

in summary and to be fair I think eBay seller protection is pretty good but not infallible

You may be taking it into account, but remember import tax/VAT - which will be a whole other set of bureaucracy to navigate to get refunded.
