Just by looking at the boiler, no one would know. But once key components are stripped out, it would be obvious if excessive amounts of sludge were present. At which point, the engineer would suck teeth and say "your warranty is void".southcoastrgi said: My question would be how do they know it's got sludge in it ?

Good question by southcoastrgi. I should have asked that question to the guy who came to service the boiler while under warranty. A plumber friend said to me sometime ago that these engineers write that on your service sheet so that it helps them to avoid too many visits. So the first questions they would ask when you phone the company is whether we had followed the instructions on the service sheet. Do you think Magnaclean is anything to go by?FreeBear said:
