    I agree that conflict isn't a problem here, and it would be unusual for a beneficiary to instruct a solicitor (unless something had actually become contentious, in which case there would then be a conflict).

    More generally I would think it fairly commonplace for a solicitor executor to be the "family" solicitor and therefore also have acted for beneficiaries in their personal capacity in relation to other matters - but that doesn't create a conflict in them administering the estate.
