I wouldn't worry what people say. I actually used a Fugi tool when I did my shower earlier this year. It worked OK as it's shower panels. The old skule tilers say that the main problem with the tools are when you get bumps in the tiling it throws it out a bit. I suppose it's what you get used to and can produce quality work with. How's yours compare with mine?digannio said:Dowsil 785, carefully placed masking tape and a wet finger... I'd post pictures of my finest hour but I just know some smart arrrse would find and point out the smallest of flaws in my pride and joy🤣

That's good :-)(I won't show you mine...)For the 'bump' issue, the better 'Fugi' sets come with a slider you can add to the tiled side, which prevents it from dipping into every grout line.An overkill set, but shows the item: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cramer-Grouting-Silicone-Profiling-Removal/dp/B07NCZ2DQJ?th=1

This is one of those jobs I HATE because I'm a perfectionist and you kind of have one shot to get it right, and the more you fuss over any imperfections the worse it seems to get.I have used masking tape in the past and it's okay but you end up with a little ridge from where the tape was. If you're like me and start to try and smooth the ridge off with your finger, you might as well have used your finger and not bothered with the masking tape in the first place.Next time I get around to doing this I'm going to try one of those tools.1

You just hold the tool at an angle then there is no bump, no need for a slider (unless your grout lines are huge).ThisIsWeird said:stuart45 said:
