Hi all. Wife got a parking charge yesterday for an overstay. She did shopping in Asda and popped for something to eat round the corner. Would this just be a case of needing to complain to the manager in store ? Do we need a receipt from the day (unlikely)? Have bank statement and also many other transactions there
Would we do that first or use the template in blue from newbie thread to contact PE initially?

If a complaint at the customer service desk does not result in the matter being resolved an email to the chief executive - ceo@asda.co.uk normally does, especially if you back it up with evidence of considerable spending in that store Its also an opportunity to tell the top man what employing a parking parasite does to their cash flow2

Thank you. Would you generally include the letter received as well along with some receipts etc of regular spend?Bookends said:If a complaint at the customer service desk does not result in the matter being resolved an email to the chief executive - ceo@asda.co.uk normally does, especially if you back it up with evidence of considerable spending in that store Its also an opportunity to tell the top man what employing a parking parasite does to their cash flow
I often wonder about CEOs replying, I would include my address too of course but always had that thought that you’d be ignored lol0 -
I recently wrote an e-mail to a CEO of a large company, because of an issue i had encountered. The CEO didn't reply, but someone with authority did, and the issue was sorted efficiently and amicably.2

Yes attach the PCN because they need it to cancel it. Obviously you do not talk about going round the corner for something to eat.paddyposh said:

On their website, I think ASDA has an area of contact about parking because they have to sort out this crap for customers.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Would sending a copy of the pcn be a safer bet? Keep the original, don't want it being lost in the post1

Update on this. I emailed the ASDA CEO ans got a response saying it was being looked at. They then sent me the following a day or two later:My name is X from the Executive Relations Team and I am empowered by the board of directors to respond on their behalf.Thank you for making us aware of your parking ticket and I am sorry you have been fined with one of these.I have gone ahead and requested a cancellation for the parking fine. However, please be advised this is not guaranteed. But if the fine is reversed, you shall receive a letter of this through the post in the coming weeks.
I will keep my fingers crossed. Should I just wait for some confirmation or chase it up after so many days?0 -
You can go to the PPC website as though to pay the PCN (but don't actually pay it) and see if it is still showing as outstanding.4

Very similar wording to a reply I received from the Asda ceo earlier this year. I followed up by pointing out that it's not a 'fine' and that a request to cancel is not good enough as a refusal by PEye to do so would be a case of the tail wagging the dog. I suggested Asda dump PEye as soon as possible. The reply suggested my points would be considered5
