Terms and conditions

The Promoter is set out at the end of these Terms and Conditions.
1. WHO CAN ENTER
1.1 This Competition is open to all residents of the United Kingdom. If you are under the age of 18, you must obtain parental or guardian consent to enter, and they must agree to these Terms and Conditions on your behalf. The Promoter may require any information that we consider reasonably necessary in order to verify your eligibility.
1.2 By submitting an entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. The instructions provided at the point of entry form part of the Terms and Conditions of this Competition. In the event of a conflict, these Terms and Conditions take precedence.
1.3 The Competition is free to enter and no purchase is necessary.
2. DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES
2.1. Entries must be received between 00:00 on 30th August 2023 and 23:59 on 26th September 2023 (the "Closing Date"). Entries received after the Closing Date will not be accepted.
3. HOW TO ENTER
3.1 To enter, simply go to your My John Lewis account registered email address to log into the website or app, and select 'enter' the Competition in the part of your account section headed 'Rewards and Treats'. Follow the instructions in the app or website and/or in accordance with the information you received by separate email.
3.2 There is a limit of one entry per person. Multiple entries submitted directly or with the use of any automated systems will not be entered into the draw.
3.3 No responsibility will be accepted for entries that are lost, delayed, mislaid or damaged in transit, regardless of the cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
3.4 Those entries not in accordance with the rules will be void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude the entry from the Competition. Any entry containing false, incomplete or misleading information will be void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude the entry from the Competition.
4. THE PRIZE
4.1 There will be one winner of the prize. They will be the first valid entry selected at random by a computer process from all valid entries for the Competition. There will be no prizes for any other entrants.
4.2 The prize consists of: the signature ‘Two Night Foodie Stay’ at Hampton Manor hotel. This includes a two night’s bed and breakfast stay in the best available room at the time of booking, a welcome drink and snack on arrival, a ‘Meet the Maker’ demonstration and tasting, a 4 course dinner at ‘Smoke’, a relaxed wine tasting, a tour of the Walled Garden with Chef Director David Taylor, from Michelin starred restaurant Grace & Savour, and an adventure wine pairing during the full 15-course tasting menu at Grace & Savour. The prize also includes a 25th Anniversary Radley handbag of your choice.
4.3 25th Anniversary Radley handbags available to choose from and subject to availability include the following John Lewis stock numbers: 72800214, 58840153, 72800215,58840231, 58840162,58845303,72800256, 72800213, 72800170, 72800165, 72800218, 72800161, 72800217, 72800164, 72800166, 72800208, 72800160.
4.4 The stay at Hampton Manor hotel is subject to availability.
4.5 The stay at Hampton Manor hotel must be booked within twelve months of the prize winner being selected.
4.6 Travel to and from Hampton Manor hotel is not included and will need to be arranged by the prize winner.
4.7 The prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and no cash alternative is offered.
4.8 By participating in the Competition, participants agree that the prize is awarded on an "as is" basis, and that neither the Promoter, nor any of its subsidiary or affiliated companies make any guarantees, representations or warranties of any nature in respect of the prize.
4.9 If circumstances beyond the Promoter's control make it necessary to do so, [or at its sole discretion,] the Promoter reserves the right to substitute another prize, in its sole discretion, of a similar nature and an equivalent value.
5. WINNER SELECTION
5.1 All valid and, if applicable, correct entries received by the Closing Date will be entered into a prize draw, and the winner will be picked at random.
5.2 The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation, the Promoter will publish the surname and county of major prize winners and, if applicable, their winning entries in marketing communications (if separate consent is given to do this) or send the surname and county of major prize winners and, if applicable copies of their winning entries, to anyone who emails myjl.headoffice@johnlewis.co.uk or writes to Marketing, My John Lewis stating the month, year, and title of the competition, John Lewis plc, 171 Victoria Street, London SW1E 5NN (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month after the Closing Date of the competition.
5.3 If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact us at the above email address. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
6. WINNER NOTIFICATION
6.1 The winner will be notified by email, text or phone call as soon as practicable after the prize draw, using the contact details provided with the Competition entry. The winner will be required to respond within 24 hours of notification (unless otherwise stated) confirming their acceptance of the prize. In the event the winner does not respond to communications within this period or if the prize is declined, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that winner and draw another winner.
6.2 The prize will be sent to the winner as soon as reasonably practicable after The Promoter has received a response from the winner, confirming their delivery address.
7. DATA PROTECTION AND PUBLICITY
7.1 By entering the Competition, you understand that for the purposes of administering the Competition and prize fulfilment, it is necessary for the Promoter and the following third parties, to hold and process your personal data:

7.2 If you have opted-in to receiving further information from the Promoter and/or its agents or suppliers, you agree that the relevant party may use and store these details to provide further information about their products and services (in accordance with the privacy policy of the relevant entity).
7.3 If you are the winner of the Competition, you agree that the Promoter may use your name, image and county of residence to announce the winner of this Competition and for any other reasonable and related promotional purposes, for no further consideration.
8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
8.1 The Promoter and its associated agencies, companies and distributors will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this Competition or accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including liability for fraud or death or personal injury arising from negligence) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law. Your statutory rights are not affected.
8.2 If you have opted-in to receive further information or marketing from any of the Promoter’s agents or suppliers involved in the administration of this Competition, you understand and accept that the relevant third party will be solely responsible for any processing of your personal data for these purposes, that such processing will be governed by terms of that third party’s privacy policy and that the Promoter accepts no responsibility or liability in association with any such data processing for these purposes.
9. GENERAL
9.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions or if the Promoter believes that your conduct may be unlawful or otherwise bring the Competition or Promoter into disrepute, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to make your entry void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude you from participating in the Competition.
9.2 The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the Competition is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
9.3 The Promoter reserves the right to suspend, cancel, or amend the prize where it becomes necessary to do so, with no liability to any entrants or third parties. The Promoter shall not be responsible if the winner is unable to redeem the prize for any time period as a result of government guidelines or restrictions resulting from COVID-19. No alternative booking dates or compensation will be available in these circumstances.
9.4 This Competition and all issues arising out of it shall be governed in accordance with English Law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
